From your drawing to packed pallet

Six structured stages with engineering checkpoints at every transition.

01

Drawing Review

Engineers review DWG / STEP within 48 hours and return DFM feedback.

02

Tooling Design

CAD/CAM team designs heading dies, rolling dies, and machining fixtures.

03

Tooling Cut

In-house die shop cuts new dies in 7–15 days depending on complexity.

04

Sample Run

First-article samples produced and inspected against drawing tolerances.

05

Production Run

After sample approval, full production starts with in-process QC sampling.

06

Final QC & Pack

Dimensional inspection, mechanical testing, packed per buyer specification.

Engineering review before tooling is cut.

Most custom fastener problems are designed in, not manufactured in. Our engineering team flags tolerance stacks, manufacturability issues, and cost-down opportunities before any tooling money is spent.

Common questions on custom fastener projects

Quick answers on file formats, MOQ, NDA, and tooling costs.

What file formats do you accept for custom drawings?
DWG, DXF, STEP, IGES, SolidWorks (SLDPRT), and PDF drawings are all accepted. For best results, send a 2D drawing showing dimensions and tolerances PLUS a 3D model. If you only have a sample part, we can reverse-engineer dimensions in our QC lab.
Do you sign NDAs before quoting?
Yes — we sign a standard non-disclosure agreement covering drawings, specifications, and project details before engineering review begins. We can also work under your custom NDA template.
What is the typical tooling cost for custom fasteners?
New heading or rolling dies typically run USD 300–1,200 per design, depending on head complexity, thread length, and material. Hot-forging tooling for large parts runs USD 800–3,000. Tooling is amortized across the first production run or charged separately.
What is your minimum order quantity for custom?
Cold-headed and thread-rolled custom fasteners require 5,000 pieces minimum. Hot-forged starts at 2,000 pieces. CNC-machined custom parts can run as low as 500 pieces, though unit cost is much higher than headed production.
How long from drawing to delivery?
Engineering review and quote: 48 hours. After PO and deposit: 7–15 days for tooling, 3–5 days for sample approval, then 15–25 days for production. Total project lead time typically 30–50 days from PO.
Can you reverse-engineer a sample we send?
Yes. Send us 3–5 sample parts and we measure them in our QC lab using calipers, CMM, optical comparator, and thread gauges. We produce a 2D drawing with our measured dimensions and proposed tolerances for your approval before tooling.
