Nickel centrifugal melt-to-machine in four stages

Four-stage condensed view. Nickel alloys need higher melt temps and tighter atmosphere control than stainless.

01

Vacuum-Argon Melt

Induction melt at 1,580-1,650°C under argon shroud. XRF verifies Ni/Cr/Mo before pour.

02

Centrifugal Cast

Spinning mold at 400-1,200 RPM. Dense outer wall, impurities migrate to ID for machining.

03

Solution Anneal

Heat treat at 1,100-1,200°C per alloy spec. Inconel 718 includes aging treatment.

04

NDT & Machine

100% UT, dye penetrant, and XRF re-verification. Then OD/ID machining to drawing.

Nickel alloy chemistry verified by XRF — no grade substitution risk

Nickel alloys are expensive — Inconel 625 costs 3x stainless, Hastelloy C-276 costs 4.5x. The economic temptation to substitute lower-grade material is real. Our XRF on every coil and shipped batch eliminates that risk.

04

Corrosion Testing

Three reasons EPC and chemical plant buyers source nickel from us

Procurement teams sourcing nickel alloy castings face three risks — chemistry substitution, undocumented heat treatment, and unverified corrosion performance.

// 01

XRF verified, every batch

Grade confirmed by X-ray fluorescence on every shipped batch. Inconel 625 ships as Inconel 625, not Inconel 600 with Mo addition.

// 02

Heat treatment documented

Thermal profile time-temperature curve included with every batch. Critical for precipitation-hardened grades like Inconel 718.

// 03

Corrosion data available

ASTM G28 and A262 corrosion test data on Hastelloy and Inconel test heats. Useful for chemical plant qualification.

Buyer questions on nickel alloy chemistry, service, and economics

Common questions from chemical plant procurement, aerospace buyers, and EPC project teams.

What's the difference between Inconel and Incoloy?
Inconel is the trademark for nickel-base alloys with nickel as primary element (typically 50-80% Ni). Inconel 600, 625, 718 are all nickel-base. Incoloy is the trademark for iron-nickel-chromium alloys where iron is the largest constituent (typically 40-50% Fe). Incoloy 800H and 825 are iron-base. Incoloy alloys cost less than Inconel due to higher iron content but offer lower temperature limits and less corrosion resistance.
What's the cost difference between Inconel 625 and stainless 316L?
Inconel 625 typically costs 3.0-3.5x stainless 316L on a per-kilogram basis due to high nickel content (60% Ni vs 12% Ni in 316L) and molybdenum addition. Inconel 718 costs 3.5-4.0x. Hastelloy C-276 costs 4.5-5.0x. Cost differences vary with nickel and molybdenum market prices.
What's the maximum service temperature for nickel alloy castings?
Depends on alloy. Incoloy 800H up to 1,150°C (best high-temp performance among Incoloy/Inconel family). Inconel 625 up to 980°C. Inconel 600 up to 1,150°C with limited stress. Inconel 718 up to 700°C (precipitation-hardened, loses strength above this). Hastelloy C-276 up to 680°C (limited by sigma-phase precipitation).
Can you cast Inconel 718 with full heat treatment?
Yes. Inconel 718 receives solution treatment at 980°C followed by double aging (720°C + 620°C) per AMS 5662 specification. Final properties typically 1,240 MPa tensile, 1,030 MPa yield, 12% elongation. Aging cycles documented with time-temperature curves per batch.
Do you certify castings for NACE MR0175 sour service?
Yes. Nickel alloy castings can be certified to NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 for sour service (H2S-containing) applications. Inconel 625 and 825 commonly used for sour-service downhole equipment. Hardness limits maintained per NACE requirement. Test certificates with NACE compliance statement issued per batch.
What's the typical lead time for nickel alloy castings?
Standard Inconel and Incoloy grades: 40-55 days from confirmed PO. Hastelloy grades: 45-60 days (longer due to specialty alloy procurement). Precipitation-hardened Inconel 718 with full aging: 50-65 days. Raw material lead time is the longest single contributor.
Can you provide corrosion test data for chemical service?
Yes. ASTM G28 (Practice A & B) for Hastelloy intergranular attack testing. ASTM A262 (Practice E) for Inconel sensitization testing. ASTM G48 pitting and crevice corrosion testing. Custom corrosion testing in buyer-specified media available through partnered laboratories.
What's the MOQ for nickel alloy centrifugal castings?
Nickel alloys have higher MOQ than stainless due to expensive raw materials. Standard sizes from existing tooling: 5-10 pieces typical economic minimum. Custom castings with new mold tooling: 15-25 pieces. Large-bore castings: project-based quotation. Smaller-batch orders accommodated at higher per-piece cost.
Can you do nickel alloy welding with matching filler?
Yes. We weld nickel alloy castings using matching filler material (Inconel 625 weld wire, Hastelloy C-276 filler) under GTAW (TIG) controlled-atmosphere conditions. Preheat and interpass temperatures controlled per AWS D17.1 / ASME IX. Post-weld solution treatment available for stress-relief and microstructure restoration.
Do you ship nickel alloy castings worldwide?
Yes. Active nickel alloy shipments to refineries, chemical plants, and aerospace OEMs in the US, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Russia, South Korea, Japan, India, Saudi Arabia, UAE. FOB Qingdao standard quote. Higher-value nickel alloy shipments often air-freighted to reduce transit risk.
